If you're the type who loves K-dramas with perfect revenge schemes, you want to read this to the end.
One struggle of being a K-Drama fan is choosing the next series to watch after you’ve finished one. The struggle can be real because you want your next K-Drama to be worthy of the time you dedicate to binge-watching it, but why am I here for you? Of course, I am here to make your K-Drama journey easier.
Make sure you add at least five of these to your watch list in case you missed them before. So here we go.
Vincenzo (2020)
Synopsis: Vincenzo Cassano, a Korean-Italian mob lawyer and consigliere of the Cassano crime family, returns to his homeland to search for a place to stash the mob's assets and find further money-laundering business opportunities.
The revenge story in this K-drama is totally worth your time I promise. I’ll just be truthful and tell you why this drama is my favorite to date. That’s because the protagonists of this series had little to no losing moments till the end. Also, the schemes used to assert revenge in this series were something else. From burning to using the law, from manipulating to giving one of the worst punishments ever. If you’ve not watched this, just know you’re missing out on a masterpiece.
The Devil Judge (2021)
Synopsis: The series is set in a dystopian version of South Korea, where people harbor hatred towards their leaders and live in chaos. Trials are held through a courtroom live show aired on television, where three judges come together to bring justice and peace.
The revenge scheme in this K-drama was both thrilling and hilarious. Who in the world sentences a person to 235 years imprisonment? Really? A little bit of a spoiler there *wink*. However, now I am sure you want to watch and see for yourself what I am talking about. And yes, what I told you is just the tip of the iceberg in the revenge scheme. Go check it out!
Military Prosecutor Doberman (2022)
Synopsis: Military Prosecutor Doberman tells the story of Do Bae-man (Ahn Bo-Hyun), who initially became a military prosecutor for money and fame where he looks forward to his retirement day, as well as Cha Woo-in (Jo Bo-ah), who was born into a chaebol family and who subsequently became a military prosecutor for revenge.
Some people are just utterly wicked! Of course, that’s me talking about the main antagonist of this series but trust K-dramas when it comes to revenge, they serve it like hot Ramyeon. When a female military prosecutor turns into a redhead and a male one hunts like a Doberman, what outcome do you expect? Premium revenge that brings even the most powerful person down of course.
The Perfect Marriage Revenge (2023)
Synopsis: The story revolves around the resilient and determined female lead, portrayed brilliantly by Jung Yoo-min, whose character seeks retribution for the mistreatment she endured at the hands of her stepfamily. The plot takes an unexpected turn when, after a tragic accident, she is granted a second chance at life.
Even when no one wrongs us, I am sure most of us have some things we would like to correct if given a chance for a second life. And maybe because she was greatly wronged, Jung Yoo-min used her second chance at life to exert a satisfying revenge. Her first step of stopping her step-sister’s marriage increased my interest in this series and I was not disappointed.
Marry My Husband (2024)
Synopsis: Set in the year 2023, a woman who was murdered accidentally by her husband after witnessing his affair with her best friend, awakens ten years earlier (2013) and begins her second life. Now determined not to suffer the same fate, she attempts to make her best friend take over her destiny and marry her husband instead, while also making sure she lives her best life this time without any regrets.
I so much love the fact that I get to put this series on my list. This drama just topped the list of my romance and revenge dramas. The fate-swapping theme in this K-drama was the perfect revenge anyone could ask for. I mean, imagine swapping an ill fate with someone who plunged you into it in the first place? Absolutely delicious!
If you’ve not seen any of these dramas, like I said earlier, know you’re missing out on something interestingly amazing.
Have you seen any of these dramas? What’s your take on it and which one are you seeing next? Let me know in the comments!
