A List of K-drama Villains We Cannot Hate

Is it possible to love someone you are supposed to hate?

Answer as a K-Drama fan.

If you answered no, we may have to revoke your K-Drama Enthusiast Card. I mean, have you met some K-Drama villains? We literally can’t hate these guys!

Although the reason we find it hard to hate them may differ. While some were because we had seen them play better in other K-dramas, some were too cute to be hated, and we might just feel some of them have justifiable stories.

However, whatever the story might be, the point is that we can’t hate them and we even root for some of them. Here are 5 K-dramas with captivating villains, and the reasons I couldn't hate them. At the end of the list, let me know if you can relate.

Ok Taecyeon in Vincenzo

First, let’s talk about how Ok Taecyeon deceived us all in the first three episodes of this series. I mean, who would have thought such an innocent-looking intern was the villain of the show? A psychopath at that! I’m in awe.

Ok Taecyeon's acting in this show was so convincing that it took some time to get used to him as the bad guy. Also, did anyone else think that scene where he lost his temper in the car was hot or was it just me? clears throat awkwardly

Kim Bum in Tale of The Nine-Tailed

While Kim Bum was busy antagonizing his elder brother in this series, we couldn’t support him, but we didn’t hate him as well. At first, it was because we knew him prior, but then we intensified our support when we realized all he wanted was his brother’s love and attention.

Also, at some point, he changed his ways and earned our hearts completely again.

Lee Tae Ri in Tale of The Nine-Tailed

Lee Tae Ri has to be another K-Drama villain we didn’t dislike as much as we should. He was a serpent, for crying out loud; tell me why we were admiring his human form.

Well, I know that as Hallyu fans, it’s difficult for us not to admire great and impeccable actors and sincerely speaking, he is one. He made us feel a rollercoaster of emotions while watching the drama.

Ahn Bo Hyun in Itaewon Class

I am sure I am not the only one who was hoping Ahn Bo Hyun would just change and apologize in Itaewon Class. He did a lot of bad things in the series but even with that, I just hoped he would not be punished with death in the series. What about you?

One reason I didn’t hate him was actually because of a sentiment. Yes, I felt bad for him in the series because truthfully, he didn’t have what we would consider a great father. Outside my sentiments, he aced his role.

Byeon Woo-Seok in Strong Girl Namsoon

In this series, Byeon Woo-seok was the CEO of a company that produced heinous drugs in mass production, and coupled with that, he was a strong antagonist to the female lead’s family.

To be honest, even though I knew the actor was utterly wrong in his acts, I could not help but feel sorry for him because of his pathetic backstory.

Also, he looks SO FINE.

The way these K-Drama villains did their thing in these series has to be studied.

I can’t believe I am asking you this, but who’s your favorite K-Drama Villain? And who’s that one Hallyu star you could never hate, even if they played the role of a serial killer? Let me know in the comments below.
