We really can’t deny the fact that military-themed K-dramas can also make for the best romance stories. So if you weren’t interested before, here are 7 binge-worthy military K-dramas that I think would catch your attention.

• Descendant Of The Sun 

Synopsis: A South Korean soldier and a beautiful surgeon fall in love. However, the differences in their profession threaten their bond. The TV series aired in 2016. Mixed with an unexpected love story in a military K-drama, Descendant of the Sun is surely worth your time.

• MR Sunshine

Synopsis: MR Sunshine tells the love story of a man who escaped slavery to the United States and came back as a Marine Corps officer, and a woman who is an aristocratic granddaughter who is part of the righteous army.

MR Sunshine is another romantic military K-drama you won’t regret watching. Although it aired in 2018, it has remained one of the most relevant military K-dramas.

• Crash Landing On You

Synopsis: It’s a 2019 drama that tells the story of a South Korean chaebol heiress who accidentally found herself in North Korea after a paragliding mishap. She met a North Korea Army man who helped her hide.

Search came to our screen in 2020. It wove together genres like mystery, thriller, and a bit of romance. If you prefer an action-packed series, this is highly recommended.

• D.P (Deserter’s Pursuit)

Synopsis: With its first season aired in 2021 and its second aired in 2023, D.P. tells the painful story of what enlistees go through during their compulsory service to the nation when a team of Korean military police is given a mission to catch deserters.

If you want a break from the romance version of K-dramas, trust me, this should be your go-to military-themed TV series.

• Military Prosecutor Doberman

Synopsis: Two military prosecutors on opposing sides are forced to work together to bring down insidious individuals in their organization.

This TV series aired in the year 2022. It was a military K-drama that kept us on our toes till the end. You absolutely want to watch this one.

Synopsis: High school students are dragged into the war of the South Korean military against an alien race.

This amazing TV series aired in the early part of 2023. It is a coming-of-age story that is combined with action and thriller. This is the perfect high school military K-drama to get your adrenaline pumping.
