One disadvantage of trying to introduce a non-Korean enthusiast to K-dramas is that they all have that “I don’t enjoy watching movies for long hours” card to play.

(Oh! Give me a break, we both know you are just trying to come up with excuses and I bet you’ll come back for more after having a taste of the K-Drama world)

However, I came up with the perfect idea to beat them at their game. It has been effective with my friends so far and I just want to share it with you.

K-dramas are known to either have 12, 16, or 20 episodes. Fortunately, there are some K-dramas whose episodes are not up to 12 and that’s the idea, just introduce those to your friends and before you know it, they are already losing sleep for a 20-episode series (the "just-one-more-episode" syndrome)

Also, as a Korean lover, if you find it hard to watch long episode series because of work or other time-demanding tasks, this is for you.

So here are some less-than-twelve episode latest series you can binge-watch or recommend for your friends.

A Shop for Killers

Synopsis: The series tells the story of Jeong Ji-an (Kim Hye-jun), who becomes the target of highly skilled killers due to the dangerous legacy left by her uncle Jeong Jin-man (Lee Dong-Wook), who died unexpectedly. Trying to figure out what's going on, she goes back to her early years to remember what her uncle taught her.

Looking for a short thriller and action drama that will save you time? Then this 8-episode series ‘A Shop for Killers’ is the right pick for you.

Bloodhounds

Synopsis: Bloodhounds follows Gun-Woo, who lives with his single mother. She owns a cafe, and Gun-Woo is a successful rookie boxer. After winning the rookie championship, Gun-Woo befriends his opponent, Woo-Jin, and immediately they become thick as thieves.

Bloodhound is another 8 episode series that will keep you on your toes till the end. This crime and action series will turn you into a detective in no time.

Love to Hate You

Synopsis: For an attorney who despises losing to men and an A-list actor who distrusts women, love means nothing - until they're forced to date each other.

From the synopsis, you already know that you are in for an amazing and romantic ride.

Is a 10-episode series that has enough comedy mixed with romance that will definitely help you save time.

The Glory

Synopsis: Dong-eun survives horrific abuse by high school bullies, then spends decades planning an elaborate scheme to make her abusers pay for their crimes.

We all know that Netflix has little to no bad series right? That’s enough assurance that this series is worth your time. Although it is a two-season series, each season only comprises 8 episodes, and since it’s a revenge series, watching the first season will leave you asking for more.

Squid Game

Synopsis: A story of people who fail at life for various reasons, but suddenly receive a mysterious invitation to participate in a survival game to win more than 38 million US dollars. The game takes place on an isolated island and the participants are locked until there is a final winner.

I can say this series had overall popularity. I mean even non-Korean lovers watched this series, right?

This drama is more of a scripted reality show and it’s one interesting 9-episode thriller and survival series, I promise.
