Bad karma: 

Whatever evil things you have done, they will always come back to haunt you. The Queen dowager had the 팔척귀 to torment the Queen's son. In the end, that same 팔척귀 killed her son. Choi Won Woo killed his book merchant, and that merchant kept his daughter in constant turmoil. The sins of the King's ancestors are responsible for the grudges and killing of many of the royal bloodlines, and also the haunting of the palace; talk about a generational curse. That evil, blind Noble Leader got his well-deserved karma. So satisfying, watching lightning strike him to death. Anyways, the evil that you do always and surely has consequences, so be mindful of what you do.

Divine will: 

Just as the monk had said, maybe Gang Cheol wasn't able to ascend because the heavens needed him to stop the impending danger that was the 팔척귀. It was the heavens will for him to save the king, Lee Seong. As much as we hate and resent the way our lives are right now, the only thing we can do is trust and be patient, and eventually, it could lead to a beautiful and happy ending like Gang Cheol's.

We find comfort and a supportive companion in the unexpected persons: 

What I mean by this is that Yoon Gap was a close and trusted subject of the king, but Gang Cheol was a friend whom the king could express his true feelings to, albeit arrogantly and condescendingly. But he was an unexpected friend in the form of an Imugi. Yoon Gap's mother found another son in Gang Cheol. She even became a grandma at the end. So people come and go in life, the only people that are worth it are those that we can rely on.

I would rate this 10/10. It's a refreshing drama that did not have a single boring episode. I would have loved to see more of Kim Yeong Gwang.
