Disney was a great part of our childhood and even adulthood, right?
Have you ever wondered what the Disney movie âCinderellaâ would look like if Korean actors were to jump on it?
I mean, I know that we have quite a few K-series like Cinderella and the Four Knights, The Heirs, and many more that have used the storyline, an adaptation, or even the name of the movie. Still, in one of many delulu episodes I wondered what it would actually look like if Korean actors were to act in the Disney version of Cinderella and yes, I came up with something.
Curious about what I came up with? I am going to try to fit a few Korean actors into each âCinderellaâ role and tell you why I think they deserve it.
Walk with me.
Of course, we will talk about the highlight of the whole movie first and my choice is definitely Park Min Young (without second thoughts or other choices)
I am going to acknowledge the fact that I am biased in this choice. I mean, she was my only option right from the genesis of this idea because sheâs my favorite actress, and yes; she has been with a lot of princes already from WWW Secretary Kim to Her Private Life, from Love in Contract to Marry My Husband, she seems to have had it all.
However, donât you think that makes her the best candidate for the position? Apart from her beautiful face, her charisma fits a princess, right?
At first, I thought of giving this role to Lee Jun Ho from 'King The Land' but after giving it more thought, Hyun Bin was just too perfect for the role.
I mean, judging from his character in 'Crash Landing On You' he gave the vibes of a prince that will look for his princess all over the world till he finds her (even the female lead of the series confirmed it).
What we need is a prince who would search for his Cinderella until he finds her even if it means disguising himself as one of the palace guards (passing through a tunnel to South Korea in the case of Hyun Bin)
Grandma Kim Hae Sook is just the best candidate for this character.
I mean, I understand she was a 'not so good grandmother' in the series âUnder the Queenâs Umbrellaâ but did you see her play what I will call âA fairy godmother roleâ in the series âTomorrowâ? She totally won my heart.
With her role in that series, she could pass for a wish-granting fairy mother in the Disney version of Cinderella.
Did you see that resemblance?
From her character in the series âPerfect Marriage Revengeâ, who else will fit in the role of Cinderellaâs stepmother if not Lee Min Young?
I mean, for someone to kill her stepdaughter twice, what did Disney Cinderella stepmother do that Lee Min Young wonât be capable of?
Although this opinion might seem outdated, I chose Jun Kwang-Ryul as the king because I am still so in love with his character from âJumong,â itâs so hard to get over it.
Another reason I am choosing him is the fact that he has the same build as the Cinderella Disney king (Am I being too mischievous?)
Should I apply to be a casting director? I think I'd crush it as a casting director, to be honest.
What do you think about these choices? And who's that one celebrity you think I should have included?
