June was a rollercoaster of emotions, mystery, tear-jerking moments and the finale of the popular ‘Squid Game’ series. But guess what? July is showing up in full drama regalia, ready to knock our socks off with more plot twists, secrets, scandals, and sweet second chances.
Let’s check out what’s sizzling on our screens this July:
We’re back at Cheongdam International High from July 3, and drama in this series didn’t take a break over the holidays. Kim Hye In (Lee Eun Saem) becomes a member of Diamond 6, the ruler of the high school affairs, as the first member with a poor family background. Baek Je Na (Yeri), who is the queen of the school, is at risk of losing an important friendship and the management rights to her father’s corporation. Desires and choices will clash; we can’t wait to see how this will pan out.
On July 5, Lee Jong Suk is back on our screens as a blunt lawyer, An Joo Hyeong, who is brutally honest. Things like protecting the weak and carrying out justice don’t exist in his book, only logic. He also doesn’t have the ambition to own his law firm even with his recognition because he considers it as too much trouble, but this peaceful world begins to crack with Kang Hee Ji (Moon Ga Young). Legal dramas? We are ready for the courtroom battles anytime!
Another webcomic, ‘Pa In,’ will be coming alive on July 16. This drama will have Oh Hee Dong (Yang Se Jong) and his uncle, Oh Gwan Seok (Ryu Seung Ryong) working together in the criminal world to make money without considering its legality. The hunt for money takes them to Shinan Island, where what begins as an adventure to salvage treasures from a sunken ship quickly turns into a gritty fight for survival. If you're into gold, betrayal, and the dark side of human ambition, then this one’s for you.
After Divorce Insurance in March, Lee Dong Wook will be coming back as the eldest grandson of a three-generation crime family with a soft side, unlike his family members. He has a pure love for Kang Mi Young (Lee Sung Kyung), who is his first love with a dream of becoming a singer. It will be fun to see him try to balance family ties, love, and crime on July 18. Whew! We’re hooked already.
Also dropping on July 18 is this eerie thriller starring Kang Ha Neul. He moves into his dream apartment after spending his entire savings, taking out loans, and selling his mom’s garlic field, only to be haunted by weird noises. That’s a lot already! He will be teaming up with Yeom Hye Ran and Seo Hyun Woo; they start unraveling the building’s sinister secrets. Creepy neighbors drama fan? Check this out!
From July 21, get ready for a psychological thriller about a seemingly kind doctor, Kim Se Hee, who’s actually running an illegal adoption ring. Every child returned from the illegal adoption is killed to conceal evidence, but Kim Ah Hyeon miraculously survives and becomes the leader of every other child who shares the same fate with her as they go up against Kim Se Hee. This plotline is enough to make us grab the edges of our seats already.
Sports drama? We are up for it! Set to premiere July 25, with Yoon Kye Sang as a former rugby star turned high school coach. He’s reunited with an ex-girlfriend, Bae Yi Ji, old dreams, and a bunch of misfit teens. Bae Yi Ji is also a shooting coach at the same high school, so we can expect some love reunions, laughs, growth, and underdog triumphs as they help train the kids.
Coming later on July 11, this web comic drama shows a world where people’s sex lives are visible as glowing red lines, connecting their sexual partners. Weirdly intriguing, right? Lee Da Hee, a high school teacher, and Lee Soo Hyuk, a detective with a free spirit, will chase the truth about the S line in collaboration with a high school student, Hyun Hob, who has always seen the line since birth. We are expecting some juicy romance and social chaos already.
Whether you’re craving legal battles, high school secrets, or treasure-hunting survival, July’s K-drama buffet is stacked deliciously. Grab your coziest blanket, pack of snacks, or bag of popcorn, and enjoy the binge-fest as it begins!
