Kdramas You Should Look Out For in 2025

Annyeong Chingudeul

Who is ready for 2025 K-drama explosion? Whether you are done with the entire K-drama catalog for 2024 or still binge-ing your way through the tsunami of stories of Chaebols, psychological thrillers, romcoms, and everything Korean drama, guess what? 2025 is going to be even bigger and more fun than ever.

The Hallyu wave is going to be even bigger, and we just can't wait. Here are K-dramas you have to see in 2025:

When The Stars Gossip

The 2025 K-drama year is starting off strong with the return of screen favorites Lee Min Ho and Gong Hyo-jin this January. This will be Hyo-jin's return to the screen after 6 years.

When The Stars Gossip is a science fiction rom-com featuring Eve Kim (Gong Hyo-jin), the new Korean-American commander of a space station, and Gong Ryong (Lee Min Ho) who is an obstetrician-gynecologist and the future son-in-law of the chairman of Korea’s biggest corporation. They cross paths after Gong Ryong arrives at the space station as a tourist and their love story blooms.

While this isn't Lee Min Ho's go-to rich guy role, we can't wait to see a cocktail of chemistry, romance, and comedy.

Newtopia

Guess who's in this area? It's Jisoo bringing the emotions, class, and enough waterworks in this upcoming drama, Newtopia.

Scheduled to be released in February, it's a fantasy, horror, and romance drama about a soldier, Lee Jae-yoon (played by Jeong-min), and his girlfriend, Kang Young-ju (played by Jisoo) running towards each other in Seoul after a sudden outbreak of a zombie virus.

If you love Train to Busan and Sweet Home, you'll definitely love Newtopia.

When Love Gives You Tangerines

2025 is definitely a year of comebacks because headlining this romantic splice of life series are IU and Park Bo Gum.

Set in the 1950s in Jeju Island, IU will take the role of Ae-Soon, a spirited and determined rebel while Bo Gum will take the character of Gwan-shik, a diligent and quiet young man often described as an unshakable rod. Together on the beautiful island of Jeju, they find themselves falling in love.

Cashero

Imagine a superhero that is only as powerful as his bank account. No, I'm not talking about figuratively but literally.

Meet Kang Sang-Woong (played by Lee Joon-Ho), a public servant at a community center who suddenly gains superhuman abilities, but there's an expensive catch. His power only relies on the amount of cash he possesses. The more he uses them, his cash goes away.

In a battle of saving humanity and your account balance, which would you pick? This comedy superhero series is sure to take over 2025.

Can This Love Be Translated?

2025 will definitely have lots of fuzzy love feels with this rom-com. This drama revolves around Ju Ho-jin (played by Kim Seon-ho), a multilingual interpreter, and Cha Mu-hee (played by (Go Youn-jung), a top South Korean actress. Ho Jim becomes her personal interpreter and they do not like each other one bit, but as they work closer, they discover that there might be more to them than just business.

The Price of Confession

Now to thrillers and suspense! A peaceful art teacher's life is turned upside down after she is accused of murdering her husband and must fight to expose his killer and free herself. An Yoon-Soo (played by Jeon Do-Yeon) and Mo Eun (played by Kim Go-Eun)will band together in prison and work towards proving Yoon-Soo's innocence and expose lots of secrets along the way.

These K-dramas are just the tip of the iceberg that is 2025. However, you got the tip here first to look out for them and enough pure K-drama goodness courtesy of yours truly.

Happy Binge Watching!!!
