More K dramas with Unbelievable Serial Killer Plot Twists

More K dramas with Unbelievable Serial Killer Plot Twists - featured image

I know I already told you about K-dramas with insane serial killer plots, but why should I keep the rest to myself when there is more?

Among the many things Korean writers love is stressing viewers with plot twists that come out of nowhere. You will be watching comfortably, eating your popcorn, and boom, the killer is someone who was smiling at the lead five minutes ago (shrugs in Vincenzo’s PTSD).

If you are in the mood for something spicy. Think mind games, moral dilemmas, unexpected villains, and story lines that make you question your own instincts. These. These dramas are ready to drag you in.

The King of Pigs

Kdramas with serial killer plot twists

The King of Pigs follows Hwang Gyeong-min, a 35-year-old serial killer who has never forgotten how he was viciously bullied 20 years ago. Jung Jong-seok is also a 35-year-old detective who tracks messages from a friend from 20 years ago. Kang Jin-ah is a charismatic detective with strong principles and an obsession with solving cases. Jin-ah and Jong-seok try to find Gyeong-min's targets after the brutal murder of his first target. The crux of the story shows the dark secrets of classmates Jong-seok and Gyeong-min as they try to expose the truth behind a death 20 years ago. The twist in this one is sharp, and that’s why I will recommend some viewer discretion and emotional snacks.

Mouse

thriller kdramas

Here is another traumatic one. The story follows detective Ko Moo-chi’s attempt to catch a psychopathic serial killer after witnessing a horrific incident as a child and dealing with his demons from the trauma. Along with his rookie partner, Jeong Ba-reum, he attempts to unearth the truth behind psychopathic behaviors and find answers about the genetic predispositions towards psychopathy. Every episode of this series ends with a cliffhanger that forces you to reevaluate everything you thought you knew.

Somebody

serial killer thriller kdramas

This series is one unpopular gem I found mainly because of my undying love for serial killer plot twists. Imagine a dating app with a mysterious developer, and people start dying because of it. Somebody takes technology, loneliness, and human obsession, blends them together, and serves you a disturbing story that feels too real. The serial killer twist is not just unpredictable, it is uncomfortable. If you enjoy dark, slightly offbeat thrillers, this one will serve you well.

Beyond Evil

The title is already a warning. Two detectives from a small town chase a serial killer whose crimes mirror a case from the past. Every single character is suspicious to the point where you will almost accuse your own shadow, just like the main characters did. The twist in Beyond Evil is cleverly layered, and it is slow-burn storytelling at its finest.

A Lucky Bloody Day

yee yeon-seok thriller kdrama

This one starts with a very ordinary man offering someone a ride. No big deal, right? Well, that is the beginning of chaos. The drama follows a taxi driver who unknowingly picks up a serial killer, and from there, everything spirals out of control. The twist is simple yet terrifying, and the tension builds in a way that will make you feel your heart burn.

If you love crime shows that test your instincts, confuse your brain, and leave you staring at your screen like you have been scammed, this lineup is your new best friend.

However, if you know you can’t handle too much pressure and tension, just pass and go watch some romance or comedy drama.
