My Sweet Mobster: The series with the right amount of everything

You know there's a difference between a cook and a chef, right? I mean, while a cook just cooks naturally, a chef is a professional, which means they are meticulous with whatever they do, and you can just tell the difference between their foods. Relevance to this piece? It's just my way of exaggerating (the right way) how whoever cooked (lol) this series 'My Sweet Mobster' was a professional chef because they came with their certificate. Gosh!

Spoilers ahead.

My Sweet Mobster is a series that tells the story of an ex-con turned CEO trying to live a normal life and a young lady who plays with kids for a living.

The drama started airing on JTBC in the early days of June and while I did not follow immediately; I did before the end and I joined the queue of people who had to wait in anticipation of the final episodes (let's talk about how I was able to fuel my patience level for this later. Lol).

The series is not a total 10 out of 10 as it had its own flaws, the first being the fact that the series was a bit dragged in the first few episodes and almost unable to catch attention at first, and it also had the use of some cliches which was not totally bad but could have been done better.

However, aside from these, I promise this drama is worth every minute you invest in it, like it has just the right amount of everything and I mean it!

If your K-Drama preference is not against a little cheekiness mixed with romance, villainy, and humor, this is your perfect find, and here are a couple of reasons why I think so.

Humor

This is a warning from my experience. Don't, I mean, don't watch this series in front of a non K-Drama fan. (Sobs in prior embarrassment) because there are specific scenes that will leave you laughing and giggling for minutes, you'll find yourself wanting more or even rewatching the scene, you will get those ‘what the hell is wrong with you’ looks from people and I kid you not.

Romance

I love the fact that both the main lead couple and the second lead couple in this series were just lovable, and they were serving goals. The romance part of this series was both mature and enjoyable. I would say it was perfect just the way it is, and be sure to encounter that syndrome of almost rooting for the second lead couple over the first.

Tearjerking Scenes

Also, be ready for some tear-jerking scenes in this series. I mean, the series is mainly about ex-convicts trying to lead a new and better life, and, of course, there are societal stereotypes that serve as a barrier to that. The struggles of these ex-cons will surely bring tears to your eyes.

Lessons/ Societal values

Just like I said earlier, the series is about ex-cons trying to live a normal life. This series subtly addresses societal stereotypes that have dominated our world at large and how we can be the change we all crave for outside pretense. The drama is not just for fun but be sure to pick useful lessons from it.

Finally, I hope you have the ability to switch between different emotions in a matter of seconds because you will need it while watching this series. I mean, one minute you are crying and the next you are laughing.

This series is highly recommended, as I have said earlier. Let me know if you are watching this in the comment section.
