Hey there.
Asking you if you’re a K-drama fan would be rhetorical because I’m sure you rode the Hallyu Wave all the way here, and you’re indeed very welcome.
I’m also sure that you have about 10 (or more) K-dramas you’ve binge-watched. This is a friendly reminder that you’re not alone and there are many of us like you, so here’s a list of 10 things we all have probably done while binge-watching a K-drama.
I wonder why when a K-drama makes you cry, it’s never the cute pretty tears. It’s always the ugly, embarrassing wailing that makes you look back at yourself and SMH. What is a K-drama without emotions, no matter the genre? We are most likely to cry while watching them, so it’s advisable to have our tissues with us right there so we don’t make a river out of our tears.
You will all agree with me that watching K-dramas from our phones, laptops, tablets, TVs, and more is not different from watching a movie at a cinema. Then if a Cinema requires popcorn, why won’t our K-dramas require some snacks to go as well?
I know you just closed your eyes when you saw this point or you’re probably blushing again, well I understand. K-dramas mostly leave us blushing when the male lead is proclaiming his undying love for the female lead and vice versa.
Personally, I don’t recommend watching a K-drama in front of a non-Korean enthusiast because the look we get when we scream unexpectedly while watching a K-drama is questioning. Anyway, we’ll continue to shout when it’s needed because we can’t help it.
Are you even a K-drama fan if the phrase “one more episode” has never left you looking like someone who was beaten up on a new morning? I mean, it’s unfair that we end up not getting any sleep when all we wanted was just one more episode.
We all know that another way to learn is by listening and repeating, so I’m sure every lover and learner of the Korean language repeats words after the characters to gain more knowledge. Thanks to K-dramas, we don’t have to rely on Korean classes, and study guides alone because while watching K-dramas we can also learn on the go.
You don’t have to be embarrassed when you unconsciously smile while watching a K-drama. We are all in this together. Cheers to our smiling selves.
If someone ever calls you an intercessor, don’t deny it, because, for our Hallyu sweethearts, we’re everything. That’s why we end up wishing for someone’s safety or hoping a situation gets better while watching a K-series.
Sometimes, we get the feeling that we’ve not gotten enough of one particular scene, so we keep watching it for a few more minutes before proceeding. Scenes like kissing scenes, and an unexpected turn of events in favor of the protagonist always leave us in this position.
K-drama is another world on its own and we’ll forever be grateful for its existence.
We hope you had a good laugh going through this and that you can relate to most of them.
