Itās finally a new week, and no one is as excited as I am because that automatically means I get to watch two episodes of my current favorite romance drama.
Of course, for this week, our start is from where we let off. However, we get a detailed explanation of the exchange between Su Jeong and the pervert who tried to harass her. While she walks around, he grabs her and asks if she knows him. Su Jeong answered this by asking if he was a Cheeabol too and his answer was yes. In her quest to defend herself, Su Jeong tells him that he is supposed to treat her like a customer since she is one and not talk casually to her but then he says the most irritating thing: he will treat her like a queen - in bed (yuck). A scuffle ensues and Su Jeong kicks him. He makes to hit her when Ju Yeon shows up, says āBabe Letās goā before pushing the pervert into the pool.
After a few seconds of bewilderment, Su Jeong finds her voice and asks Ju Yeon if she is a baby. He covers up and says he was referring to the pervert as ābabyā so he could let go and a load of other excuses no one wants to hear, after which he tells her to come with him since it would soon rain. He might have fooled the audience at the scene with that measly excuse, but definitely not me!
True to his words, the two are stuck in the car because it is raining heavily. She asks him how he knows it rains to which he gives the credit to his incredible smartwatch aka virtual memo recorder. Su Jeong requests to go home but he refuses which leads her to start whining about food, how she is hungry, has no energy, and even skips lunch because of him. Although Ju Yeon disagrees and tells her she seems full of energy, her grumbling stomach gives him the best answer (one I am sure is more polite than what she could have said verbally). Of course the next scene is that of a cafĆ©. After a few minutes of bantering on who is eating what, she asks him how he intends to watch her again since it is late already. Will you stay up? Or will you sleep with me? She says nonchalantly and I donāt know how he manages not to spit out the chocolate drink in his mouth.
She tries to assure him that she has already signed the agreement and cannot expose his secret since all she has is debt and no money to pay if he sues her. Just then she notices the cafĆ© is giving out stuffed toys which interests her. Ju Yeon asks her why she is interested, and she answers that it is cute and free. Apparently that earns her some favor since he asks her to go home and records a memo noting that Su Jeongās danger level went down and she has better tastes than he thought. Didnāt think saying a stuffed toy was cute would earn a person their bossā favor till I met Ju Yeon by the way.
Su Jeong goes home to check the price of the dress she wore to the party. When she sees how expensive it is, she says to herself that she could sell it for three million won. However, she thinks that she should return the dress since it's not her own. As she tries to get the dress off, the zip refuses to come down. She struggles with it until the zip finally comes down, but her light goes out. She has to climb a table to fix it herself.
Just then, her father comes in to talk to her. He tells her that she should have called him for help, but Su Jeong insists that she can handle it by herself, proudly mentioning that she has an electrician's license and worked hard to obtain it. Shin Won goes back to Ha Jin's bar and sits down. Ha Jin comes over and starts a conversation with him, telling him that the place is too quiet and deserted for a bar. She also mentions that she promoted it on Instagram, but it didn't work.
Shin Won replies that the promotion did work, at least he's there now, and he liked the picture on Instagram. He then tells her that there are a few things that can be improved about the picture and starts giving her tips on how she could have taken it better. As they chat, he starts taking sample pictures to show her. While they arrange food together, the K-Drama classic hand-grazing moment happens, followed by an awkward silence. But what happens next is not what you'd expect. Instead of freaking out or pretending it never happened, Ha Jin looks Shin Won straight in the eye and asks, "Do you want to sleep with me?" Shin Won responds with, "Should we?" And then, surprisingly, they start kissing. It's a shocking turn of events that catches you off guard. To think the most shocking event so far didnāt even come from the main leads.
The scene cuts to the main lead, who's completely carefree, gaming away in his secret gaming room. He's casually buying gaming items, sipping on his chocolate drink, and enjoying every moment with a satisfied expression. Ha Jin and Shin Won wake up together in bed. They spend the morning at a fishing market, where Ha Jin meets up with her parents. Despite Shin Won's attempts to linger, it's clear they're not making a big deal out of their night together. Ha Jin thanks him, saying she had fun the previous night. However, when Shin Won tries to cling to her, she subtly hints that she's divorced, implying her parents want her to remarry. Shin Won takes this as his cue to leave. After Shin Won departs, Ha Jin meets up with her parents. Her mother nags her about not having a stable job, criticizing her decision to open a bar and predicting its failure.
Ju Yeon and Su Jeong meet up at the office the next day, where she tries to return the dress she wore to the party the night before. He asks her if she got it cleaned, and she tells him that she didn't, to which he responds by telling her that she should've gotten it cleaned since she wore it. Su Jeong tells him to reimburse her for the dress cleaning, and he walks off. After their banter, Ju Yeon walks back to his office, and suddenly, memories of the previous night come flooding back - specifically, the moment Su Jeong walked up to him, causing his heart to skip a beat.
Meanwhile, Su Jeong attends a group meeting, initially trying to throw some subtle shade at Ju Yeon. However, she quickly redirects the insult at herself when he shows up. As the meeting progresses, Ju Yeon and Su Jeong discuss their points with ease, making it seem like they'd rehearsed beforehand. Within minutes, they reach a conclusion, leaving the other team members surprised. It seems Ju Yeon is not the only one having flashback episodes since Shin Won is having the same in his office, making him stare into space.
Ju Yeon and Su Jeon are seen in a mall trying to close a deal they were working on and after a brief back and forth with the manager, as they set to leave, Su Jeong pauses in her steps after noticing something. Ju Yeon thinks she recognizes his glasses brand and tries to brag about owning the product. However, she bursts his bubble by saying she only noticed the crooked letter in the brandās name spelling. Meanwhile, a customer is harassing a sales representative of the brand over some damages and repairs. Ju Yeon steps in and is obviously out to make trouble with the man, but Su Jeongās swift action and intervention not only pacifies the man but makes him end up buying a new pair of glasses.
Ju Yeon belatedly realizes this customer is actually the lead singer of his favorite rock band, but he can't approach the man because of his secret lifestyle. Su Jeong helps him get an autograph and also offers to take pictures with the singer on his behalf, so he can live vicariously through her. Ju Yeon mischievously takes pictures only of the singer, pettily cropping Su Jeong out of the pictures.
On their way out, they discuss a few things, and the conversation gets serious again when she realizes how passionate he is about his interests. She tells him having passion for something is a valuable thing and sheās jealous of him. A literal āyour feelings are validā kind of pep talk. They would have ended that on the usual cat and rat page again, but he pulls her back when she tries to walk away and tells her to be careful lest she gets wet. The response to that? Splashes of water from a fountain. Su Jeong sees a rainbow, and her face lights up with a smile. Ju Yeon catches the smile, and it's like something shifts inside of him. He makes this promise that from now on, he's gonna try to enjoy the things he loves, at least when Su Jeong is around.
The next scene brings a new twist, and it looks like we're finally moving past the hate phase. Ju Yeon surprises his assistant by saying that Su Jeong isn't all that bad after all - in fact, she's actually good at her job, and he's decided he wants to keep her around. Meanwhile, Su Jeong is having lunch with her team members, and she drops a bombshell: she thinks Ju Yeon isn't all that bad either. It looks like their relationship is finally starting to thaw, and I'm excited to see where this new development takes them!
Su Jeong is working late again, and Ju Yeon emerges from his office to tell her to pack up and go home. He claims it's because he doesn't want to feel bad, but Su Jeong is taken aback by his sudden concern. As soon as he walks away, she wonders to herself who tells someone to leave work in such a rude tone. But Ju Yeon isn't done yet - he comes back to remind her that she doesn't need to bother with dry-cleaning the dress anymore. And then, he slips up and says something that makes Su Jeong's heart skip a beat: "It was pretty." He quickly tries to cover by emphasizing that he meant the dress was pretty, but the damage is done. It seems like Su Jeong's good deed in helping him get his idol's autograph has earned her some brownie points with Ju Yeon. When he gets home, on his way to place the autographed pouch in his secret hideout room, his doorbell rings. It's Shin Won, dropping off some side dishes from his mom.
While Shin Won is hanging out at Ju Yeon's place, he can't help but scroll through his phone and burst out laughing. It's pretty obvious he's obsessing over Seo Ha Jin's Instagram stories. Ju Yeon notices his goofy grin and asks him what's so funny. Shin Won tries to play it cool, but then he asks Ju Yeon if he believes in destiny. Ju Yeon's expression suddenly turns serious, and it's clear he's thinking about his childhood encounter with Su Jeong. He warns Shin Won to be careful, saying he's playing with fire. But Shin Won is quick to point out that Ju Yeon's reaction means he's still got feelings for his first love. This gets Ju Yeon all riled up, and he starts chasing Shin Won around the house.
The next scene cuts to what appears to be a weekend, with Su Jeong at home, checking out the dress and asking herself if it was pretty. Then, we see Ju Yeon sweating it out at the gym, before receiving a message that his latest order has arrived - and, of course, his ego is on full display as "Black Dragon". We then move to a scene where his cleaner arrives for her occasional visit, and we learn that she's not allowed to touch his "study room" - aka his secret gaming lair. Once she's gone, Ju Yeon sneaks into the room, carefully unwrapping and setting up his new gaming gear with the precision of a surgeon in an operating room. After all this, he retires to a couch fully exhausted, and can't help but think about Su Jeong again. Falling for your first love again? Canāt wait for the big reveal!
Next, we see Seo Ha Jin receiving a bunch of gifts, courtesy of a mysterious delivery. It's later revealed that the gifts are from none other than Black Dragon. When Su Jeong walks in, she notices the gifts and asks Seo Ha Jin who sent them. Seo Ha Jin tries to play it cool, not wanting to mention Black Dragon's name again, but Su Jeong's curiosity is piqued. Su Jeong later discovers the truth when she sees the inscription on one of the gifts, and she's not happy about it. She gets ready to leave but then decides to stick around. Meanwhile, Seo Ha Jin is about to toss the gifts, but Su Jeong suggests she sell them online instead.
Ju Yeon and Su Jeong bump into each other in the office elevator. He brags about his smartwatch. And she's impressed. As she's checking it out, they get a little too close for comfort. But just as things are getting interesting, Ju Yeon's secretary opens the elevator door and catches them in a weird position. Su Jeong quickly pushes him away and makes a hasty exit.
When they get to the office, they find a mysterious capsule that looks just like one Ju Yeon owns. He freaks out and rushes home to check on his own capsule. But when he can't find it in its usual spot, he starts to panic. The scene then cuts to a flashback of Ju Yeon's childhood. It's the anniversary of his parents' death, and his grandma is blaming him for their demise. She's furious about his love for video games and orders them to be destroyed. As predicted last week, this is the scene Ju Yeon begs for the things not to be burnt. As the flashback shows, there's one particular item he's desperate to save - a stuffed doll given to him by his parents.
Back in the present, Ju Yeon is still freaking out, thinking someone has discovered his secret gaming life. But then he finds the capsule under one of the safes, and he's relieved. At the office, Su Jeong and the other employees are buzzing about the mysterious capsule. They're all wondering who the owner is and joking about how grown adults shouldn't be keeping capsules. Ju Yeon is clearly uncomfortable, and things get even more awkward when Su Jeong comes into his office with the capsule in her pocket. He asks her who the owner is, and she says she found it randomly and plans to return it to its owner. Ju Yeon's curiosity gets the better of him, and he asks Su Jeong why she didn't think it might belong to him. Su Jeong fires back, asking if he's into collecting capsules, and Ju Yeon lies, saying he's not interested. The conversation takes a sharp turn when Ju Yeon tells Su Jeong to return the dress he lent her. Su Jeong was taken aback, reminding him he'd already told her to keep it. Ju Yeon claims he's changed his mind, and things start to get heated. Su Jeong stands her ground, hinting that she knows about Ju Yeon's secret gaming life. She threatens to expose him, then turns to leave, telling him she'll return the dress on Monday.
Su Jeong's plan to return the dress hits a snag - it turns out Ju Yeon was right, she had sold it. When she tries to contact the buyer to get it back, they refuse and block her. Su Jeong is left wondering what to do next. She considers exposing Ju Yeon's secret gaming life, but then remembers she's already signed a contract and could get sued if she spills the beans. She's stuck. Meanwhile, Ju Yeon is thinking about Su Jeong (as usual), but his attention is quickly diverted when he gets a notification that his new order has arrived. He ditches all caution and rushes home to indulge in his latest gaming goodies. Ju Yeon's excitement over his new gaming equipment is short-lived, as it turns out to be faulty. He tries to research a solution, but can't find one. So, he decides to look for someone who can help him fix the issue, someone who doesn't know him, and doesn't have too many reviews that might be fake. Guess who he ends up calling? Su Jeong's dad! And, as luck would have it, Su Jeong is with her dad when he receives the call. After some persuasion, Su Jeong's dad agrees send his daughter!
Ju Yeon heads out to his car and calls the number to guide the person he thinks is Su Jeong's dad to his place. He warns them about the CCTV monitoring and not to film anything. But when he checks the CCTV feed, he's shocked to see a woman instead! He quickly calls the number, trying to sound calm, and asks why they sent a woman. Su Jeong explains that she's her dad's daughter, and while they're talking, Ju Yeon accidentally slips up and uses his real voice, saying her voice sounds familiar. Su Jeong suddenly sights the autograph she got for him and realizes who he is - Director Ju Yeon! She exclaims his name just as she turns to face the CCTV camera. Ju Yeon panics, jumps out of his car, and sprints back home to stop her from entering his gaming room. But it's too late! Su Jeong has already pressed the button to enter the room, and her eyes widen in shock as she takes in the gaming setup. The episode ends with a cliffhanger, leaving us wondering what will happen next!
For the next episode, I am not expecting something grand. Just some more bonding and falling out, slight development of the second lead love story, sprinkles of flashbacks and backstories here and there and some tension build up, but definitely not the big reveal. See you in the next one.
