Just like we have common K-Drama Ahjummas who are known for being in everyone’s business, we certainly have those Ahjussis who are either mischievous or funny in whatever role they are given.
And definitely, this is us talking about them.
Here are some of the most common Ahjussis in K-dramas.
Jo Han Chul is a 51-year-old actor who has been acting since 1998.
For me, this Ahjussi gives more of a funny vibe even when he is supposedly playing a serious role (or am I the only one who feels that way?)
Anyway, what I can say for a fact is that he features in more movies than dramas, but gives him any role and he delivers. Speaking of his face, he must have caused quite a traffic amongst ladies in his youthful days. (Husband material energy).
He has been featured in series like Vincenzo, Gyeonseong Creature, The Moon and My name is Lokiwa, to mention a few.
Jang Hyun Sung is another K-Drama Ahjussi who is one of my favorites. He is 53 years old, and he debuted in 1997.
I will say he is famous for playing the roles of quiet fathers and uncles who always avoid drama. Talk about flawless acting skills and he deserves his flowers. I mean, definitely!
His filmography includes Flex x Cop, Agency, Revenge of Others, and more.
Yoo Jae Myun is a 50 years old Ahjussi known for his villain roles in K-dramas (making my Park Seo Joon suffer in Itaewon class was not part of the plan, so I don’t like him anymore)
However, his activist role in Vincenzo will not go unnoticed so I am just going to call him a Villian Nice Man (No objections). He started his acting career in 2001 and some of his screenplay features are Insider, Hometown, Vincenzo, Itaewon Class, etc.
Talk about father roles, villain roles, king roles, and more and you are talking about Choi Won Young. One thing I know for sure he is not the Ahjussi who stays at one side and watches things unravel in any of his roles, he is surely getting involved and even calling the bar and this is the reason he is my second favorite Ahjussi.
He is 48 years old and debuted in 2002. You can see him in series like Golden Spoon, Under the Queen’s Umbrella, Twinkling Watermelon, and more.
Talk about reserve. And that’s what I did with this Ahjussi. I reserved the last spot for him because he is my first favorite Ahjussi.
My first encounter with him was in Strong Girl Bong Soon and he was so hilarious (Losing almost all his teeth made it more fun). In most of his roles, he is either a funny street nuisance, Ahjussi, or a wanna-be transgender, and his sense of humor is top-notch.
Unbelievably, he is 55 years old and debuted in 1991.
He has been featured in series like Strong Girl Bong Soon, Behind Every Star, The Good Bad Mother, and more.
Honestly, these are not the only K-Drama Ahjussis so tell us about other K-Drama Ajhussis you love in the comments. Let's go!
