There are some dramas; I don’t need a second season for them because it’s a continuation of previous storylines but spin-offs inspired by the previous storyline. Sign me up with a bowl of popcorn, Ramyeon, and Soju!
A delulu episode of mine made me realize I want to see some K-Drama spin-offs so badly. Although I know there’s a low chance of getting these spin-offs, let me share what I came up with, with you. Shall we?
Here are 5 K-Drama spin-offs I want to see and my preferred storyline.
You probably already know the storyline I want for this spin-off, but I will still explain it to you as I have imagined it. The main storyline (lead couples) definitely gave us all the satisfaction we wanted, including the ending part, but we all know something was missing, and that is the perfect and happy ending we wished the second couple would get. In this spin-off that I have imagined, I hope Seo Dan (Seo Ji-Hye) and Gu Seung-joon (Kim Jung-Hyun) will be the main characters, navigate their own love story with a not-so-twisty plot twist and end up with a good ending (nobody should die).
Honestly, I was totally satisfied with everything in this series. It was a good revenge story I resonated with and I want nothing to be changed in this original series. However, in the spin-off, I have imagined, I wish Vincenzo (Song Joong Ki) and Hong Cha Young (Jeon Yeo Been) would have a properly developed love story. I mean, instead of the half-baked romance we got in the original series, let’s have something more romantic or more romance-focused (I would really love to see the love story between these two). Also, in this spin-off, can we include Jang Han Seo (Kwak Dong-yeon)? I mean, he can be Vincenzo’s real brother like he wished for in the series, then make sure he doesn’t die again.
I know this one is greed, but I am still going to wish for it (it’s my greed.) Queen Im Hwa-ryeong (Kim Hye-soo) did a great job as the main character of this series. In fact, she seems to be born for the role, and so I respect every content of this series. However, if we are to have a spin-off, I want to see the Grand Prince turned Crown Prince Seongnam (Moon Sang-min) and Lady Yoon Cheong-ha (OH YEJU) story. Before you will say I am obsessed with love stories, I don’t want to see their love story particularly but I want a story with the two of them as the lead, probably something like a young king and queen trying to navigate the problems of the palace and all of that (Not a sequel because every other person who were in the original series will not exist in the spin-off except the two of them.) Let’s just say a story similar to “Forbidden Marriage” but different in its own way, you get it?
We’ve all been waiting for season two of this one forever, but now that we’ve come to terms with the fact that we are not getting it, can these K-Drama producers just give us a spin-off with Prince Wang So (Lee Joon-gi) and Hae Soo (IU) as the leads again with a good ending? In fact, it doesn’t necessarily have to be a spin-off. It can be another drama entirely with the two of them as the leads, but make them have a happy ending. Just give us the happy ending we seek as a form of closure, jebal!
Just because we loved the second lead couple as much as we love the first lead couple, can we have a spin-off drama with the former as the lead? Nothing much, just a much-developed story because they got a happy ending already just like “Spice Up Our Love.”
It’s so nice to be back from delulu land.
Which of these spin-offs do you think will make sense the most?
