The ink drips smartly over here. Let me take you through the world of my imagination while riding on the letters😎 It's all fun in this corner.
We finally get to see the reason behind their smiles and walks as they walk through the traffic confidently in the past episode. Ki Jun had told Han Deul to put on her smiley nutcase armor when she was afraid of passing through.
The smile on their faces after the walk disappears as Ki Jun receives a notice of hair appointment cancellation, which leaves him wondering aloud if he should go there or not. He rushes over, and a passing car whines down beside Han Deul. A senior of hers from university and her former workplace calls her name, and they leave to grab a meal.
Jeong Shin, the senior, praises her for being the best employee she's ever had and for leaving her ex-husband because she's a sweet soul to the point of letting people walk over her. She responds that getting a divorce is the best thing she has done recently.
She reveals she's working for Plus General Insurance, and Jeong Sin scolds her mildly for not taking a vacation and resting after the divorce. She proceeds to talk about the divorce insurance product that's underway, and Jeong Sin seems to have heard of it from the wedding fair. She praises the insurance and wishes her the best of luck.
Now, we are back where we left episode 3. Ki Jun takes a picture of himself at the museum and sends it to his elder sister's husband, Uh Hyeong, who comes over immediately. He begs him to purchase the divorce policy, but he asks for another type of insurance if Ki Jun is in a tight spot. However, Ki Jun insists that it has to be the divorce insurance. Uh-Hyeong asks that he stop it if he's trying to test him, but he argues that he's not a jerk who will play with a man who lost his wife.
Uh Hyeong ends up taking the insurance. Ki Jun raises his voice as he points out his unkempt hair, nostril hair, and living miserably in guilt. We get a flash of him hanging umbrellas in his house and texting him to take one with him since it will rain, changing the TV's remote batteries, bringing him chicken, and washing his car so he can go for a weekend drive. It does look like things didn't end badly between them for him to be available for his Uh Hyeong after his wife passed away.
Ki Jun says if he had treated his own sister the way he's treating him, she wouldn't have left him and died, showing the guilt he's carrying in his heart for dismissing her divorce talk. Uh Hyeong apologizes in tears, saying that he doesn't know what to do. Ki Jun opens the divorce contract for him, telling him to sign it, meet people, and get married if he can, so he doesn't lose him too.
The same maple leaf that fell on his sister's knitted material also falls at his feet as he walks out of the museum after meeting Uh Hyeong, sparking memories that make him crouch down in tears in the middle of the street.
Na Rae enters the laundry shop with a huge white stuffed doll and ignores Jeon Man, who is sitting and snacking in the corner. She confidently stuffs the doll in the washing machine, and he runs to stop her, but it is already too late. The teddy explodes into a ball of cotton, and he scolds her for not reading the warnings before wishing her the best of luck. She stops him from leaving by pulling his hand back and staring at him like a lost puppy.
Sassy Jeon Man responds that she doesn't expect him to help her out, right? And then we watch him pack out the wool and vacuum the entire place; a lot for someone who initially didn't want to help. He hands over the remnants of the stuffed dolls to her after explaining the trashing method and tries to leave, but she stops him once again. At this point, we can all ask what Na Rae's problem is, can't we?
Han Deul knits in her empty house before trying to clean the mark on the floor that won't clean away, no matter how much she tries. Dumping the task, she puts a call through to Ah Young, who is on a date with a weird-looking guy, because why are his eyes shining at that watt, and he keeps nodding with his teeth open for the world to see? Thankfully, we are on the same page with Ah Young because she's also not in the mood to entertain his cheesy lines.
She fishes out a divorce insurance contract as the guy reveals that he heard she works in finance. She asks him to take out a divorce insurance, but he responds that she's aggressive. She adds being rude to the list and asks that they don't waste each other's time since they're here on a blind date. As she tries retrieving the paper, he slams his hand on it to stop her, adding that she's passionate, so he will sign up.
The paper gets ripped in half because it keeps dragging from both ends. He remarks that it's fate because it ripped into two equal parts, so they should keep it and put it together next time. Her anger takes over as she tells him to stop being dramatic, but the real drama shows up as the singing crew in the hotel mistakes them for another couple and pops the confetti on them after putting a cake on the table. Her date still finds joy in the chaos and claims its fate that the incident happened to them, making it the last straw for her.
Back to Na Rae and Jeon Man, they visit a restaurant, and he gives his plate to the owner for serving. She asks if it's not a hassle to go around with plates, and he rants on about plastic waste in Korea. Oh, my Jeon Man! They both claim to review statistical data carefully, and this is why they get the figures for plastic waste as they wait for their food to be served.
The owner's drunk husband makes a mess by breaking a plate, injuring the woman, and leaving the restaurant after fetching some money from the drawer, leaving Na Rae to tend to her wound. The woman argues that he just had a few drinks as an excuse for his behavior, making Na Rae flare up, that defending him is the reason he's treating her that way.
Jeon Man's gentle approach opens the woman's heart, and she reveals how he steals her money, drinks, gambles, and even hits her. Urrghh! Another jar of rotten kimchi we have here. He asks where their children are, and she tells him they have all gotten married; immediately, he tells her that she has done more than enough. I also support it!
He pushes the divorce insurance to her and explains that she can get marital counseling with her husband first to see if he can change, and if nothing positive happens, she can proceed with divorce. The owner says she'd love to take one, but she's not sure if she's fit for it at sixty; they end up convincing her that she still has a lot of years left to enjoy.
Our hotel pest is still following Ah Young as she walks down the street to look for new contracts urgently. He tries to stop her many times, tells her his real occupation as a dancer, makes some dance moves to match her steps, and dances in front of a shop with a mascot, which ends up winning Ah Young's attention. She joins him in the dance session before she comes to her senses and bolts off in embarrassment.
Ki Jun dramatically collapses on the street next to Han Deul, who rushes to feed him some water. He takes hold of the bottle and gulps it down before showing her the picture he took at the museum. She stands to leave him and go on his way, but he holds on to her skirt and whines that she take him along.
Jeon Man and Na Rae continue with their entanglement as she invites herself to his home so they can share the meal he bought. He turns her offer down with the excuse that he doesn't invite anyone to his home, but is left with no choice as her stomach growls. He sets a lower chair for her and tells her to eat up, leaving her wondering why he makes that kind of choice. At least he entertained you, VP-nim!
Ki Jun and Han Deul end up at a café because he craves coffee, and he watches her knit as he rests his head on the window frame before sleeping off. He wakes up to see many snacks on the table and wonders why she ordered so much, to which she responds that the room charge covers it. He whines about her not waking him up instead of going to such an extent, and she reveals that she wanted him to sleep longer since he looks tired. She explains how knitting relates to her life, and he requests to learn because he has an unfinished knitting piece – I guess it's the one his older sister left him that day.
They go shopping to clear their heads, and we get a flashback between him and Na Rae where she leaves home to meet a guy she knows from childhood, who is coming back from New York at her home. He questions why she still has the home after giving the impression that she sold it after marriage, and she fires back with why she would get rid of her personal space. He makes his unhappiness known about the situation, but she flips it off with she can afford it and that she also needs her personal space because marriage is not her everything.
Na Rae and Jeon Man catch up on coffee after the meal, and he opens up about how his ex-wife was always filling the house with different arts, which made him realize he needed a space for himself; Na Rae can also relate since it happened with her last marriage. She sees a pet rock, and Jeon Man tells her that he brought it home from fishing with Ki Jun; she's surprised to hear that Ki Jun fishes, and he questions if they were really married. We are questioning, too! He asks if she likes fishing, and she shakes her head, then proceeds to tell her that Ki Jun probably knows she hates it, and that's why he never brought it up.
Han Deul runs into Su In, her ex-husband, in the supermarket, and he throws stalking charges in her face. Man, you are not the gem you think you are! He yells at her for not sending the things he requested and shopping in the same place with him, you own the shopping mall now, uhn? She turns to run away but collides with a section of goods, earning a moron remark from him, hitting her with the shopping cart as she bends to pack them up while calling her an idiot. Permission to slap sense into him, please!
She yells loudly at him, attracting more people, and he tries to silence her by pushing his cart towards her aggressively, but Ki Jun blocks it with his cart before he can touch her. Yess! He covers her and stands in front of her with the cart facing that of Su In, who tries pushing but can't. The current girlfriend urges them to go, seeing how Su In keeps fooling himself with the cart, and Ki Jun helps with packing the goods off the floor.
Na Rae finally leaves Jeon Man's home and promises to bring her chair next time. Girl, stay in your house! He goes back inside, and he's clearly unsettled by her stuffed doll seated in the corner of the room. What a dramatic VP-nim. Meanwhile, back at the company, an anonymous intruder logs in to the company's system with a written ID and password to view the insurance policy. What are they cooking this time around?
The team finally gathers for the first time in this episode to find a solution to the contract issue of maintaining a zero divorce in the first six months. Ki Jun explains that they plan to give divorce management classes while filtering out the high-risk ones. Han Deul supports that they will help other couples maintain their relationship by introducing couples-based activities.
They divide the tasks, and each team runs out to start their mission, but Na Rae stops Han Deul to ask if she was with him the day his ovulation alarm came off while they were on call – the limousine scene. She responds that it's not her ovulation and is neither Na Rae's, getting her nailed right there, hehe!
Han Deul and Ki Jun visit the physiognomist, who draws on their faces as he explains to them. They both clean up their faces in the car, and he leans forward to help her clean the smudge before a call comes in to notify Ki Jun of facing the FSS and a possible revocation of the insurance's approval due to a policy violation. This takes us back to the anonymous intruder scene. Did someone in the company set them up for failure? We are not sure yet, but that's the most likely situation.
The teaser for this episode didn't prepare us for the emotional chaos and entanglement that happened with almost every character. The drama is unfolding secrets quickly and teasing the chances of relationships. I like that it's not dragging, and we have so much to deal with in every episode.
There's a lot of work for them in the next episode as they try to find the solution to the divorce problems, and these situations are pushing our leads closer. Hopefully, we will get more interesting and funny scenes like episode three as we journey further in the coming episodes.
