Five Byeon Woo Seok K-dramas you should watch if you loved him in Lovely Runner

Personally, before I start binge watching a K-Drama (if I didn’t follow it while airing, though), I want to know how much hype it received from people who followed it. Also, if a series is so hyped up in the media, one of the things I instantly assume is that it has a great cast lineup, and, of course, I am always right about that, and that was exactly what happened with this series.

Although the series Lovely Runner had a list of commendable cast members, this piece is dedicated to one of our handsome actors who was the main lead of the drama mentioned above, Byeon Woo Seok Oppa, of course!

It’s no news that Byeon Woo Seok brought his role to life in Lovely Runner, however if you loved this about him in the series, here are some of his K-Drama features you should see.

Flower Crew: Joseon marriage Agency

Synopsis: A king makes a request to Joseon's best dating agency, "Flower Crew" to protect his first love. Upon his request, the matchmakers at the agency risk their own lives to transform the lowly woman Gae Ddong into the most noble woman.

Although Oppa was nothing near the main leads in this series, he almost stole the show with his role and handsome face. Watch him play the role of a sageuk informant who uses his handsome face to collect free information from his admirers.

Record of Youth

Synopsis: A young makeup artist meets the male model she idolizes. The two start a romantic relationship, but it is soon complicated by his growing success as a new actor. Their relationship undergoes many ups and downs as they navigate social pressure, family drama, and the desire to live on their own terms.

He may or may not have been a chaebol in real life, but he was one in this series. Apart from the fact that he was a successful model and actor, he was a rich Oppa. He had a relatable role that showed the struggles of youth, and he delivered so well.

Moonshine

Synopsis: Moonshine is a raucous one-hour dramedy that tells the story of the Finley-Cullens, a dysfunctional family of adult half-siblings battling to take control over the family business.

Moonshine is another sageuk which starred Oppa. Here, he was a crown prince who was virtually giving everyone the middle finger with his rebellious attitude. He drinks at will and even at prohibited times. However, I found him kinda cute in the series.

Strong Girl Namsoon

Synopsis: Gang Nam-soon (Lee Yoo-mi) disappeared in Mongolia as a child. As an adult, she travels to South Korea to search for her parents, where she finds her mother Hwang Geum-joo (Kim Jung-eun), who is a billionaire businesswoman, and her grandmother Gil Joong-gan (Kim Hae-sook), in the Gangnam district.

This Oppa made it to a list of K-Drama villains we could not hate because of this series. Talk about K-Drama villains that delivered their roles so perfectly that you could hate them for real and you will find this Oppa there, however, he could not be hated for real. In this series, he was what I referred to as a villain with a touch of delulu.

Lovely Runner

Synopsis: The series follows the journey of Im Sol, an ardent fan of idol Ryu Sun-jae. Sol, a once-promising film director whose dreams were shattered by an accident that left her paralyzed, finds solace in the music of Sun-jae. However, tragedy strikes again when Sun-Jae commits suicide, leaving Sol devastated.

You are probably here because you watched this series already, however if that’s not the case, this series will have you smiling at every interval. The characters were great, and Oppa was not left out. I love the chemistry in this series, and what should we attribute that to if not topnotch professionalism?

Although Oppa is already receiving a lot of love and attention, I feel his career is still promising, and there’s more to come. He’s not one of my hallyu crushes, however I am rooting for him.

Which of these series have you seen and which is your best? Let us know in the comments.
