May was really amazing with a lot of dramas. We got served left and right, with Dear Hongrang stealing the spotlight for its masterpiece plot, cinematography, and plotline. A huge shout-out to Netflix for dropping it all at once, relieving us of the tension of suspense.

June is upon us, and K-drama land has once again promised us back-to-back awesome
dramas. Here are the dramas to look out for in June 2025:

A Woman Who Swallowed the Sun

Sounds mystical already. This mystery thriller will be hitting the screen on the 2nd of June, as life will take a dramatic turn for Baek Seol Hee, a single mother who is resilient in her snack shop business and raising her daughter. She has to confront powerful forces to protect her family, and she won’t be holding back. They must be the sun she’s swallowing, hehe!

Mercy for None

Seems like mercy will be going on a brief holiday starting June 6th. Nam Gi Jun, a former gang member, leaves his past after his brother died a mysterious death when he joined the opposite gang. Eleven years later, the second-in-command of his brother’s gang also met the same cruel fate, and he decided to step in.  Oooh, a revenge plot? We definitely can't wait to see this one!

The First Night with the Duke

Another historical fantasy, like we love them! On June 11, the story of a modern-day college girl getting transported into her favorite romance novel will grace our screens. She lives in the body of a minor character, Cha Sun Chaek, who is the daughter of a wealthy noble family, as she explores the new world and encounters the novel’s main character, Lee Beon, who is of royal blood. Transmigration in live action, when done well, is absolutely irresistible, so fingers crossed to see what happens in this dynamic fantasy story.

Our Movie

This is a romantic melodrama telling the story of film director Lee Je Ha, who received worldwide attention for his debut film and was called a genius, but has been obsessed with a possible sophomore jinx. Over the past 5 years, he has not worked on anything. He decides to end his 5-year hiatus and begins to work on his second film, where he collaborates with actress Lee Da Eum, who has an incurable disease, and they work on a project. Love and solace end up sneaking in to be project mates, and who are we to complain?

Hunter with a Scalpel

Something that deals with psychology? Bring it on! We are not called detectives for nothing. June 16 will bring us the story of Seo Se Hyun, a brilliant forensic pathologist with antisocial tendencies. Is this a normal thing for forensic doctors? Because they mostly possess it. She discovers evidence linked to a recent murder case of her presumed-dead father, who is a notorious serial killer. Wow! She takes on the journey to uncover the truth, and we can’t wait to
journey with her.

Head over Heels

A supernatural fantasy featuring Park Sung A, a high school student who lives a double life as the shaman fairy, Cheonji, who covers her face partially to hide her identity. She tries to alter the fate of her crush, Bae Gyeon Woo, when she foresees his impending death by transferring to his school. It will air on June 23rd.

Squid Game (Season 3)

Stand up for the boss! Finally, the last season of the global sensational drama will be aired on June 27. We can’t wait to see the final games and if Gi Hun will get to dismantle the organization behind them. It’s time to hold our seats tightly for the new challenges and deeper explorations of humans’ greed and desperation.

Love Phobia

Romance novelist Han Sun Ho will be delivering a sci-fi comedy on June 27. She’s deeply
attuned to emotions but crosses paths with Yoon Bi Ah, who is an emotionally detached CEO of an AI-driven app. Of course, the connection will be a hilariously tough one at first, but we can’t wait to see the romance bloom.

A lot of dramas with the right amount of spice are peeping at us for June. It’s not too late to place an order for your unlimited popcorn and Sprite because it’s going to be a long ride through the world of K-dramas. Which one are you most excited about?
