Outside K-dramas: Korean horror movies you should definitely see

K-dramas!, K-dramas!!, K-dramas!!!, but I must admit, not everyone has the luxury of time to watch long episodes of K-dramas (at least not all the time).

However, I'm sure I'm not the only one who always experiences this feeling of detachment and incompleteness when I've stayed away from all things Korean for a few days, especially K-dramas, which is my favorite aspect of Korean culture.

If you constantly find yourself in situations like this, worry no more because I've got you covered. I'm sure you definitely have two hours at most to spare for Korean movies (after all, all die na die🤣🤣).

So here are 5 Korean mystery, horror, and thriller movies (if that’s your preference) you should see, and I promise, you won't regret investing your time in them. Leggo.

The Mimic

The Mimic is a 2017 psychological movie that will have your skin peeling. It tells a story of the mother of a missing child who takes in a lost girl she finds in the woods, but soon begins to wonder if she is even human. However, the horror all goes down to a malevolent spirit residing in Mount Jangsan called the Jangsan Tiger and a shaman who is willing to do anything to gain power, sacrifices his own daughter and even lures people into a cave by mimicking the voices of their loved ones and sacrifices them.

The movie was released in the Cinema in 2017 and not only did it record a huge success; it was nominated for a number of awards, so trust me when I say this will blow your mind.

In this sci-fi, horror movie, a group of police officers fights against dangerous criminals being transferred on a cargo ship bound for Busan, South Korea. In the long run, everyone aboard is faced with a superhuman called Alpha who moves to annihilate all of them. Although with a 2017 setting, the movie was released in the theaters in 2022.
