Some of us do not even have a traveling passport, but we've been to more countries than people who have one. How? If you are on here, you know what the answer is.
For instance, in the comfort of my bed I have been to over 20 countries all thanks to K-dramas (yes, I have been there, if you have an objection, argue in the comments)
This is because many K-dramas don't just use amazing shooting scenes in Korea alone but they go as far as to feed our eyes with scrumptious scenes in other countries which is nothing short of amazing and the fact that it's not a mirage and they actually use these countries is a plus.
In case you want to travel out (my way) or you would like to utilize the third advice I gave in How to get to Korea without spending a dime , here are some amazing dramas with foreign shooting scenes you've either seen or you should see.
Although it was just a few scenes of the drama, it is worth noting that Red Swan had a partial setting in the USA, New York to be precise, because it was the opening setting of the series and it was fun to have such a start for the series, I mean, not all the time Korean settings. Also, if you are craving some illegal USA encounter, you know what to do with this information.
Why I will be noting the âGoblinâ Canada (Quebec precisely) encounter is not just because itâs a setting but because I think it was one of the most peculiar foreign scenes we ever had in the history of K-Drama. Like, should we talk about the mode of getting there (just opening a red door? Sign me up!) or how amazing it was watching them having all the fun whenever they went there, and yeah, you definitely know it was not an arranged backdrop or a fake.
Not to bore you, the three dramas stated above all have a part of their backdrop in Spain, and itâs funny how one thing the three of them have in common is that they first started out in Spain before moving on to South Korea and all three were a worthy watch. Although the exact province wasnât stated in the âLegend of the Blue Seaâ and âThe K2,â Memories of Alhambra was definitely set in the Alhambra province because it was the memory of it, wasnât it?
This is your sign to start packing your bags for Spain because why not?
Youâve seen this, and you know that although it was a flashback, we later found out the love story we were rooting for started in Switzerland and yes, it was that same country that saved us at the end of the day and allowed our love story to survive and bloom outside the constraints of the two countries.
Definitely, our initial scenes gave us a brief description of our male lead and the type of life he was leading in Italy before his journey to Korea to retrieve the treasures.
After South Korea, Italy is my next dream country, and thatâs why I specifically inserted this here I have got to try different types of pasta, so let me know if you will be joining me on this journey. Although I donât know which scene to use yet, all the Italian scenes are scary.
PS: I didnât mention North Korea for âCrash Landing on Youâ because it was not a real backdrop but letâs talk about that later.
So let me know if you are taking my advice in the comments and which of these countries are you visiting.
